Ooredoo Kuwait’s Nine-Month Revenue Surges 6% to $1.9 Billion as EBITDA Climbs 10% to KD 255 Million

KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait’s National Mobile Telecommunications Company, commercially operating as Ooredoo Kuwait, has reported solid financial performance for the nine month period ended September 30, 2026, delivering a 6 percent year on year increase in consolidated revenue to KD 608 million ($1.9 billion) compared to KD 573 million ($1.8 billion) during the corresponding period of 2025.

Operational profitability expanded across the group’s footprint, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rising 10 percent to reach KD 255 million, up from KD 232 million recorded in the first nine months of last year, driving a strengthened EBITDA margin of 42 percent. Adjusting for the one time bad debt provision booked in the prior comparative period, normalized EBITDA grew 8 percent year on year. The operator’s consolidated customer base expanded 7 percent to reach 29.1 million active subscribers as of September 30, 2026, compared to 27.3 million a year earlier.

Reported net profit attributable to the company stood at KD 48 million for the nine month period, representing a 29 percent decline from KD 68 million in the prior year, with consolidated earnings per share arriving at 97 fils compared to 136 fils in 2025. The bottom line decrease was primarily driven by a non recurring KD 23.5 million provision recognized following a June 2026 final ruling by the Supreme Court of Algeria concerning a legacy legal claim brought by the Central Bank of Algeria against group subsidiary Wataniya Telecom Algerie. Excluding this one time Algerian legal provision alongside the prior year’s bad debt adjustment, normalized net profit reached KD 72 million, demonstrating stable core earnings resilience.

Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that the nine month financial performance underscores the durability of Ooredoo Kuwait Group’s diversified business model and broad geographic footprint. Sheikh Nasser noted that top line momentum was propelled by strong commercial execution across Algeria, Tunisia, and Palestine, while domestic operations in Kuwait navigated global handset supply chain constraints that moderated hardware turnover but bolstered overall profitability through a higher margin service revenue mix. He affirmed that the group remains focused on upgrading digital and network assets alongside disciplined capital allocation to drive sustainable shareholder returns.

Abdulaziz Yaqoub Al Babtain, Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Kuwait, emphasized that the results validate the company’s operational foundations and strategic focus on revenue quality and resource efficiency amid regional market shifts. Al Babtain highlighted that Ooredoo continues to solidify its position across Kuwait’s telecommunications and ICT landscape by accelerating strategic investments into artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and process automation to enhance operational agility and lead the sector’s digital transformation.
