Ooredoo Partners with Indosat, Nokia, and NVIDIA for $800M Neocloud Platform Zankore
DOHA / JAKARTA — Qatari telecommunications giant Ooredoo Group has committed $800 million as the founding shareholder and lead investor in Zankore, a dedicated artificial intelligence compute and neocloud platform. Developed in collaboration with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Nokia, and NVIDIA, Ooredoo will hold a 49% controlling stake in the venture.
The platform will launch initially in Indonesia before expanding across Southeast Asia. Zankore targets an ultimate capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW) of NVIDIA DSX AI Factory infrastructure. The first development phase is slated to deliver 200 megawatts (MW) of AI computing capacity in the first half of 2027, powered by NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems.
According to initial financial projections, Ooredoo's $800 million capital commitment is expected to yield approximately $600 million in cumulative EBITDA over its first five years of operation. The infrastructure incorporates NVIDIA DSX MaxLPS power optimization technology, which dynamically manages power across GPU clusters to boost computing output by up to 40% within the same facility energy envelope.
The strategic move positions Ooredoo as a first-mover in Southeast Asia's rapidly accelerating market for enterprise AI infrastructure and sovereign cloud capabilities. Under the consortium agreement, Ooredoo provides long-term growth capital; Indosat contributes domestic telecom infrastructure and operational footprint; NVIDIA supplies accelerated compute hardware, AI software, and ecosystem integration; and Nokia delivers high-performance data center networking infrastructure.
The deployment coincides with a broader push by Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) entities to expand international digital infrastructure investments. Separately, market reports indicate that Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company is evaluating a $6.3 billion AI data center initiative in Japan, alongside broader multinational efforts to establish major regional compute hubs across the Asia-Pacific region.
