Roblox Launches ‘Roblox Arabia’ to Deepen Regional Engagement and Spotlight Middle Eastern Creators
DUBAI / RIYADH — Global immersive digital platform Roblox has officially debuted Roblox Arabia, a dedicated suite of Arabic-language social media channels designed to bring the platform closer to millions of users, builders, and developers across the Arab world.
Announced by Mohamed El Sheakh, General Manager for MENA and Türkiye at Roblox, the channels will serve as a centralized digital community hub delivering localized news, product updates, and features highlighting regional creators, bespoke virtual experiences, and homegrown development communities.
"The launch represents an important step towards building a stronger local presence, developing a deeper understanding of the region, and creating a community closer to Roblox," El Sheakh stated on LinkedIn, underscoring the company’s strategic shift from treating the region solely as a player base toward nurturing a localized creator economy.
Accelerating Regional Expansion:
Saudi HQ Establishment: The rollout comes weeks after Roblox announced plans to establish its regional Middle East and North Africa (MENA) headquarters in Riyadh, supported by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment (MISA), the Riyadh Creative District, and the General Authority of Media Regulation (GAMR).
Savvy Games Group Partnership: In May, Roblox signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Public Investment Fund (PIF)-owned Savvy Games Group to accelerate local game development, integrate STEM education, and foster technical talent in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Creator Monetization: The Middle East has emerged as one of Roblox’s fastest-growing regions, with daily active users in Saudi Arabia quadrupling over five years and domestic creator earnings surging 59 percent year-over-year.
Trust & Safety Enhancements: Roblox continues to advance its native Arabic-language content moderation capabilities. In-experience chat functions have remained temporarily restricted across parts of the Middle East while the platform matures its localized moderation systems to ensure safe digital environments.
The introduction of Roblox Arabia bridges an important communication gap, providing an official, direct channel to engage, support, and spotlight Arab creators building interactive IP for global distribution.
