45.2% of Saudi Internet Users Adopt AI Tools as Mobile Data Hits 3x Global Average
RIYADH — Artificial intelligence tools are now used by 45.2% of internet users in Saudi Arabia, while average monthly mobile data consumption has reached 53GB per person — three times the global average — according to the fifth edition of the Saudi Internet Report 2025.
Published by the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST), the report provides a detailed view of internet usage patterns, digital-service adoption and the continued development of Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure. CST is the Kingdom’s official regulator for the communications, space and technology sectors.
Saudi Arabia recorded a median mobile internet download speed of 216 Mbps, placing the Kingdom among the top five G20 countries for this indicator, according to the report.
The findings also reveal the depth of digital engagement across the country. Around 61.3% of users spend seven hours or more online every day, reflecting the growing role of connectivity across work, communications, entertainment and everyday services.
The report examines the use of digital applications and services across categories including social media, government platforms, sports and artificial intelligence, alongside differences in usage patterns between user groups.
AI adoption emerged as one of the report’s most significant indicators, with 45.2% of Saudi internet users now using AI tools, pointing to the rapid integration of emerging technologies into the Kingdom’s digital environment.
Saudi domain names also recorded 18% annual growth, reflecting the continued expansion of local digital content and greater adoption of Saudi online identities.
The report additionally covers fast-growing applications, browsing behaviour, commonly used search engines and the development of the Kingdom’s internet ecosystem.
The latest findings build on CST’s annual monitoring of Saudi internet trends and infrastructure. The regulator’s previous report also placed Saudi Arabia among the top five G20 markets for mobile internet speed, highlighting the continued development of the Kingdom’s connectivity infrastructure.
CST said its continued monitoring of internet developments is intended to help improve digital-service efficiency, support innovation and strengthen the contribution of the digital economy to Saudi Arabia’s growth.
