ABU DHABI — Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lawrence Wong attended an executive bilateral business dialogue at the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi, hosted by Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority and Group Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Investment Company, bringing together senior ministerial leadership and institutional enterprise chiefs to advance strategic cross border collaboration across artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and critical energy systems.

The high level engagement formed an integral component of Prime Minister Wong’s inaugural official state visit to the United Arab Emirates since assuming office, building directly upon the foundational Singapore UAE Comprehensive Partnership established in 2019. Bilateral discussions centered on aligning institutional capabilities to harden national energy security, insulate critical supply networks from geopolitical fragmentation, and create cross regional investment mechanisms that enable commercial enterprises from both nations to expand simultaneously across Southeast Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Addressing the executive gathering, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong emphasized that the United Arab Emirates represents Singapore’s premier investment destination within the Middle East, highlighting that current global macroeconomic turbulence makes supply chain diversification and shared technological capability imperative. Wong stated that extensive discussions with the leadership of major Emirati technology and energy enterprises revealed significant scope to deepen bilateral competitiveness, urging joint public and private ventures to bridge commercial ecosystems between ASEAN and the Arabian Gulf.

Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak affirmed that the UAE and Singapore share an enduring bilateral alliance anchored in forward looking economic planning and a shared commitment to technological innovation. Al Mubarak noted that the discussions focused on synthesizing the respective industrial strengths of both hubs into actionable commercial frameworks, driving capital deployment into foundational artificial intelligence, next generation grid decarbonization, and long term economic resilience.

The high level session featured comprehensive presentations from Abu Dhabi’s leading technology champions and state energy enterprises. In artificial intelligence and advanced digital systems, technology conglomerate G42 showcased its vertically integrated ecosystem, featuring ongoing engineering work on the landmark UAE United States AI Campus alongside commercial capabilities across Space42, predictive analytics provider Presight, and healthtech entity M42. The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) demonstrated its open foundation models developed by its Institute of Foundation Models alongside executive education partnerships executed between The Academy and the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, while defense and advanced technology conglomerate EDGE Group highlighted bilateral co development opportunities and dual use technological exchanges with Singaporean manufacturers.

In the energy domain, state energy producer ADNOC, currently recognized as Singapore’s largest supplier of crude oil, outlined initiatives to expand downstream trading and maritime energy transportation links. Renewable energy developer Masdar demonstrated utility scale clean energy frameworks designed to support cross border green electricity imports into Singapore to fulfill growing Southeast Asian power requirements, while the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) explored joint civil nuclear programs focusing on specialized engineering talent development and technical safety protocols.
