Al Yamama Clinches Infrastructure Contract for Humain’s 6 GW Hyperscale AI Campus in East Riyadh
RIYADH — Dammam based contractor Al Yamama Company for Trading and Contracting has secured the primary infrastructure enabling works contract for Humain, the artificial intelligence enterprise owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to construct the backbone utilities for its massive 6 gigawatt (GW) hyperscale artificial intelligence data center campus in Riyadh.
Tendered in May 2026 under an early contractor involvement model, where shortlisted engineering teams submit competitive methodologies prior to selection, the project represents one of the largest specialized data center utility infrastructure packages undertaken in the Middle East. The campus will occupy an expansive 24 square kilometer site across the Al Saad district in eastern Riyadh, structured for phased delivery across six individual plots rated at 1 GW each.
Under the scope of work, Al Yamama will execute the comprehensive civil and high voltage electrical foundations necessary to sustain multi gigawatt artificial intelligence training clusters. The electrical engineering envelope includes a massive 2,000 MVA bulk supply point, two dedicated substations rated at 500 MVA and 200 MVA, and a high density power distribution network transmitting across 380 kV, 132 kV, and 33 kV lines. In parallel, the civil works encompass extensive underground fiber optic and power cabling conduits, dedicated primary road networks, stormwater drainage networks, on site sewage treatment facilities, and high capacity water and fire suppression loops.
The gigawatt scale Al Saad project marks the flagship installation within Humain’s nationwide computing topology. Across the kingdom, Humain is executing parallel high capacity builds, including breaking ground alongside DataVolt on the initial 100 megawatt (MW) phase of a planned 1.5 GW campus at NEOM’s Oxagon, scaling an artificial intelligence cluster with AMD and Cisco toward 1 GW by 2030, and expanding a separate Riyadh data facility with contractor MIS to 250 MW.
Securing the utility foundation for the Al Saad campus transitions Saudi Arabia’s sovereign compute ambitions into active physical construction, deploying domestic industrial engineering capacity to build the power and cooling lifelines required to operate frontier cognitive workloads under Saudi Vision 2030.
