King of Bahrain Issues Royal Decree Reconstituting TRA Board of Directors
MANAMA — His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has issued Royal Decree No. (40) of 2026, reconstituting the Board of Directors of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). The decree was issued based on the proposal of the Prime Minister and following the approval of the Cabinet.
Under Article I of the decree, the TRA Board of Directors has been reformed under the leadership of Eng. Mona Al Sayed Ali Al Hashemi as Chairperson. The newly appointed board members include:
Maj. Gen. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa (Member)
Col. Eng. Sabah Ali Al Binali (Member)
Ms. Amal Ahmad Al Abbasi (Member)
Mr. Musab Mohammad Ahmad (Member)
The tenure for the board membership is set for a four-year term.
According to Article II, the Prime Minister is tasked with implementing the provisions of the decree, which takes effect immediately upon issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette. The reconstituted leadership is expected to drive Bahrain’s telecommunications agenda, oversee sector regulations, and advance the Kingdom’s digital transformation priorities.
