Opensignal Joins SAMENA Council to Advance Network Experience Measurement
Opensignal has joined the SAMENA Telecommunications Council, bringing its independent network-experience measurement and connectivity analytics expertise to the industry association’s membership ecosystem across South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
The membership is intended to strengthen engagement between Opensignal and mobile and broadband operators, regulators, technology companies and other digital infrastructure stakeholders across the SA-ME-NA region.
As regional markets continue investing in mobile broadband, fixed broadband, 5G, 5G-Advanced and digital services, the ability to measure how consumers experience networks in real-world conditions is becoming increasingly important for investment planning, service improvement and regulatory dialogue.
Opensignal provides independent insights into consumers’ mobile and broadband connectivity experiences and carrier choices. Its analysis can help operators compare network performance, identify areas requiring improvement, assess their competitive positions and understand the factors influencing customer decisions.
For regulators and policymakers, real-world experience data can provide greater visibility into network coverage, service consistency, reliability and the user-level impact of infrastructure investment.
Shawn Heidel, President of Opensignal’s Network Experience Division, said the region represents an important connectivity market where operators and regulators are placing increased emphasis on network quality and measurable infrastructure outcomes.
“The SA-ME-NA region is an important connectivity market, with operators and regulators placing greater emphasis on network quality, user experience, and the measurable impact of infrastructure investment,” Heidel said.
He added that joining the council would provide Opensignal with a platform to engage regional telecom leaders, contribute independent network-experience insights and support discussions on how mobile and broadband networks are measured and improved.
Through its membership, Opensignal will be able to share data-analytics findings, participate in policy and industry discussions and contribute to conversations involving service quality, infrastructure performance and telecom-market development.
Welcoming the company, Bocar BA, Chief Executive Officer of the SAMENA Telecommunications Council, said Opensignal’s independent analysis could support better-informed decisions by operators, regulators and other stakeholders.
“Opensignal brings valuable expertise in real-world network experience measurement and connectivity analytics,” BA said.
He added that this expertise was relevant as regional markets continued investing in mobile and broadband network development.
The partnership reflects the growing importance of measuring actual customer experience as cloud services, digital applications and data-intensive platforms place greater demands on telecom infrastructure.
More reliable network-experience data could help support service improvements, regulatory alignment, investment confidence and customer trust across SA-ME-NA markets.
