stc Bahrain Partners with ila Bank to Deliver Up to 25% Savings on Global Travel Connectivity via rova eSIM App

MANAMA — Digital telecommunications enabler stc Bahrain has entered into a strategic cross sectoral partnership with ila Bank, the Kingdom’s premier mobile only digital bank powered by Bank ABC, to provide bank cardholders with exclusive tiered discounts on rova, stc’s specialized global travel application and lifetime embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) platform.

The commercial collaboration bridges digital telecommunications infrastructure with lifestyle financial services, delivering instantaneous, low latency data connectivity to outbound travelers without requiring traditional physical SIM replacements or steep international roaming tariffs. Under the agreement, ila Bank cardholders can unlock savings of up to 25 percent on destination specific data bundles across more than 35 international territories.

Engineered by stc Bahrain as an autonomous digital companion for frequent international flyers, the rova platform is accessible to both active stc network subscribers and customers of competing regional operators. The app utilizes a single lifetime eSIM architecture, enabling users to provision destination cellular data packs dynamically on their smartphones without deleting profiles or rescanning digital codes during transit.

To activate the promotional tariffs, customers apply designated promotional codes corresponding to their payment card tier during digital checkout on the rova platform. Holders of an ila Bank Credit card or ila Bank Premium card receive a 25 percent discount utilizing codes CREDIT25 and PREMIUM25 respectively. Furthermore, customers transacting with an ila Bank Prepaid card, ila Bank Classic card, or an ila Bank alburaq Debit card obtain a 15 percent discount via codes PREPAID15, CLASSIC15, and ALBURAQ15 when finalizing purchases with their respective ila payment cards.

Khalid Alia, Chief Digital and Customer Experience Officer at stc Bahrain, affirmed that rova was designed to dismantle longstanding travel friction points by eliminating punitive roaming charges and airport queuing for regional SIM cards, noting that collaborating with ila Bank introduces the travel solution to an engaged, digitally fluent subscriber base.

Abdulla Abuidrees, Head of Marketing and Acquisitions at ila Bank, stated that the partnership enriches customer lifestyle propositions by combining modern mobile banking convenience with affordable, uninterrupted cross border communications across key travel corridors.
