Bahrain’s iGA Renews Strategic Enterprise Cloud Agreement with Computer World to Centralize AWS Government Operations

MANAMA — The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain has officially finalized the renewal of its strategic partnership agreement with Computer World, the accredited public sector partner for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Kingdom, to centralize the operational governance, scalability, and financial oversight of government cloud infrastructure.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the iGA, and Mohammed Farooq Almoayyed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Computer World, in the presence of Dr. Khalid Al Mutawa, Deputy Chief Executive for Operations and Governance at the iGA, alongside executive delegations from both entities.

Under the renewed framework, the partnership unifies the administration of the overarching enterprise agreement covering public services and ministerial workloads hosted on the AWS platform. By centralizing management protocols, operational controls, and billing architectures, the agreement reinforces national digital continuity, hardens cybersecurity baselines, and enables government ministries to dynamically scale computing resources in response to changing civic demands.

Mohammed Ali Al Qaed stated that the renewal demonstrates the authority’s focus on modernizing foundational technological infrastructure, accelerating nationwide digital transformation, and applying international benchmarks to cloud services governance. Al Qaed affirmed that the centralized architecture directly optimizes public sector information and communications technology expenditure, expedites digital project execution timelines, and supports the upskilling of Bahraini talent across advanced cloud disciplines.

Mohammed Farooq Almoayyed affirmed that Bahrain continues to establish notable regional benchmarks in adopting cloud first public sector strategies, highlighting that consolidating operations under a unified enterprise agreement provides ministries with heightened expenditure transparency, resource optimization, and operational efficiency across all AWS hosted environments.
