China Deploys 27th Batch of Low Earth Orbit Internet Satellites via Long March 12 from Hainan Commercial Spaceport

HAINAN — China has successfully launched a Long March 12 carrier rocket from the Hainan Commercial Spacecraft Launch Site in Wenchang, deploying a new batch of low Earth orbit internet broadband satellites into designated orbital planes on Saturday morning.

The liquid fueled launch vehicle lifted off at 3:27 AM Beijing Time from the southern island province, successfully executing separation and orbit insertion protocols to deliver its payload, officially confirmed as the 27th group of low Earth orbit internet satellites.

The mission marks another operational deployment utilizing the Hainan commercial launch facility, an orbital facility designed to handle high cadence launches required to assemble China’s national satellite broadband mega constellations. By utilizing commercial launch pads alongside medium lift launch vehicles like the Long March 12, the initiative accelerates deployment velocity for orbital communications networks engineered to deliver high speed, low latency data connectivity and space based broadband services to commercial and enterprise consumers globally.

The deployment continues China’s broader strategic expansion into non terrestrial networks, establishing resilient space based communications infrastructure to compete directly with global constellation networks while advancing domestic satellite manufacturing and commercial launch capabilities.
